Wisewordsforlater Applying for a job or jobs and getting a job in a few days use to be pretty common. Far less so these days. I used to be able to apply to a job or two or three and land an offer within a week or two. These days its silence.
BugSimilar5810 There are so many people in you field out of work and the job market looks only experienced people in other fields that is difficult to find anything even slightly related to the same wage or position type... It's so disheartening to see the career path chosen might disappear... I am sorry you are going through this
Budget-berry-80 I have 20 years as a software developer. This is the longest I've ever been unemployed (3 1/2 months). It s ks in software right now unless you've been a senior developer. I'm at the point where I need anything. I'm the sole breadwinner with a 20 yr old son who is also not working. Im afraid I may have to drive for Uber, Instacart and Amazon for awhile.
